The 1990-92 Rover Cooper is also called "Carburettor Cooper" in mini circles. This Mini was reintroduced under Rover as a re-edition of the then legendary Cooper (until '71) with white roof and bonnet stripes, burl wood, black interior, metallic paint: red or british racing-green and all technical standards of the 1990s. Due to the stricter emission standards in 1992, this Cooper is the last type with a built-in carburettor (type HIF). After 1992, the Cooper series appeared from 1994 with electronic fuel injection as the Cooper 1.3i.

Beginnings2/3

After my (Paul's) sister also had her driver's license and we "had" to share the Mini Mayfair Sport, I thought about buying my own Mini while I was in the army. Since my friend was building a Trabant and I looked over his shoulder from time to time, a partial restoration was also an option. After an extensive search on the net, I looked at the Cooper in Dresden and found it to be a good basis for bodywork restoration (the very beginning...). Technically TÜV compliant... bought... one year "pepped up" and logged in again. After almost 4 years I had technically repaired almost everything too.

Plans3/3

In the past time, engine and chassis tuning was performed on the Mini. The following enhancements in the interior and on the body has been done, as well as final small changes to the chassis.
A practicality is not to be achieved here. The Mini is modified from pure joy tuning and is thus a "Fun Mini".

06.07.2024In Vorbereitung auf eine mögliche Wiederanmeldung habe ich begonnen den Sprit (inkl. Filter) zu tauschen. Desweiteren werde ich den Beifahrerschalensitz mit Hosenträgergurten auf einen Standardsitz mit 3-Punktgurten zurückbauen, damit meine Tochter in ihrer Sitzerhöhung mitfahren kann.
04.10.2021Da wegen Corona kaum noch Treffen stattfinden und ich den Cooper in den letzten Wochen auch aus privaten Gründen wenig bewegt habe, wird dieser vorerst abgemeldet.
