Description1/3
The 1275cc engine with electric injection system installed from 1992 was then exclusively installed in the Rover Mini. Due to the weakening Rover Group, sales of the now aging mini models fell. In order to restore its attractiveness to customers, the British Open Classic was created in a series of countless other special editions. The special features were: bright interior, burl wood dashboard and an electric folding sunroof, paint: black metallic or british racing green.
Beginnings2/3
My (Yvonne's) first car should be here in time for the end of driving school. So, half a year beforehand, they searched for advertisements. My dad found a Mini nearby and thought "Why not?" led to the inspection. Since I didn't have a driver's license yet, my father did a test drive and was thrilled! The Mini (garage vehicle, 2nd owner and from an older woman) was bought and inspired my father and me so much that the six months until I got my driver's license were bridged with it by working on it. was driven to and from work. ;)
Finally with my own driver's license, I drove the Mini myself for almost 10 years every day and also changed small optical things (e.g. exterior mirrors in Unionjack design). Until the complete restoration was due due to the rust.
Plans3/3
The overall restoration was completed in 2012. The entire drive unit was thereby left in their original condition and possibly refined. The chassis has been optimized for the most part with sports components (shock absorbers, suspension, track, and camber adjustment, brake). Visually, the Mini is strikingly painted, been provided with airbrush and embellished with various accessories.
Since 2019 (because of our family growth) there is still a one-axle trailer, so we can go to meetings as a pair.
